A fun-filled weekend!

I don't know about everyone else, but I had a great weekend full of adventures with fellow Destiny friends and acquaintances.

Friday night I joined several folks scouring the forests west of Destiny, cleansing the area of elementals. We ran into some trouble at the magical energy line (server line) but it was still fun! Later that night, many of us responded to Apocolypse' call for help at the Ogre Lords. More fun!

Sunday night a nice fellow by the name of Brian lead a great group of us on a treasure hunt that included two level three maps. It got pretty scary a few times, but we all made it back alive. Brian says he has a level four map for us next time! (We'll need boats for that one.) Thanks to Cayce for organizing it. Watch the calendar for the next Treasure Hunt!

Many of us here in Destiny have been busy the last two weeks.

The Awards Committee created six new badges – two for the fishermen, three for the bards, and one for the highly skilled craftsmen. Artwork for these will get underway soon. There is a thread on the message board concerning group badges and activities for virtue nominations. Please share your ideas there. Also, KFW has chosen to keep the 2nd tier warrior class badges exclusive to KFW. So other Destiny guilds will be getting a new set of warrior badges above the 1st tier. Now is a great time to jump on to the committee and help create those.

Mendanbar has been hard at work taking feedback and revising his shop organization proposal. I hope everyone will do his/her best to work with him. Making Destiny mercantilism the absolute best it can be is not an easy task.

The Librarians had a successful Valentine Contest. I, for one, can’t wait to read all the entries and see what happens for those who won. Congratulations to all the winners, and to the Librarians for a job-well-done.

Members of the Events Committee brainstormed some ideas. I’m excited to see those flesh out on the events planning board soon.

Cayce McLeod has taken over WWP. Alexis returned to her original guild, the Clan of the Avatar.

KFW held the first its new monthly meetings. I think it did the Knights good to get together and hope to see that continue.

KFW has a new message board. Due to the large amount of space the message boards take up, calamity.net will no longer host them. Destiny has had a new board for just over a week now. The KFW board is a different style and host. Please take a look at both boards and share your feedback. Due to the amount of criticism I’ve received about the Destiny board, I’m considering trying another; so please give your feedback on which board you like better, etc.

After traveling out of town the last three weekends, I hope to make significant progress on the new web page’s unfinished items while enjoying a quiet weekend at home.

Town Council Meeting Minutes – 02/11/01

Council Attendance: marina (leader), Hyzenthlay (leader), Vulcan Ironsides (in for Nabzif), Berek Halfhand (GM KFW), Dren Jootz (Advisor Par), Alexis (GM WWP), Kurrgan (leader), WingNut (leader), Big John (leader)

Carina announced that Thalkos Mystar stepped down as Leader of the Events Committee due to “other worldly” timing issues. Alexis is going to take the job up. Good luck to Alexis. She’s got her hands full!
Carina also mentioned that the new web page is in testing now and will be implemented very soon.

KFW Report – Berek reported that the Beast Army is undergoing some leadership changes. Specifically, Marina has stepped down as General, and has suggested James for the position. The decision will be finalized at the upcoming KFW meeting. There is a KFW meeting next Sunday, February 18, 2001, hosted by Kurrgan, General of Sorcery. Bereks’ Banner Quest is going well. He has reports of up to 5 full runebooks of ruins have been marked. Deadline for entry is next Sunday as well. For more information, see www.calamity.net/kfw

WWP Report – Alexis reported that Ladies night is now once a month, the 3^rd Thursday. The 4^th Thursday will now be Guys night. The last Saturday of the month is now Treasure Hunt night. There will be a Fishing Trip the 1^st Saturday of each month. Tomorrow, February 12 is a Valentine Party at WWP. And the Events Committee will meet there Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Citizen Report – Vulcan Ironsides reported that Nabzif has written a Destiny Handbook and given it to each of the recruiters to give to all the new citizens. The book tells about each of the Destiny guilds and outlines the three rules of Destiny for the new citizens. There is a copy of the book locked down in the Mayor’s office as well. Also, in the Mayor’s Office is a book from Crystal inviting those interested in joining Destiny to icq her for information and gives her icq number.

S_B Report – Berek reported that Green Viper is now the GM of the Silent Brotherhood. We’ll be seeing more of him from now on.

Thanks to all who attended. The next meeting will be the first Sunday in March. March 4, 2001.

2/03/01

Regularly scheduled Town Council meeting for this Sunday will be postponed until NEXT Sunday, due to travels. I hope this isn't too much inconvenience for anyone. We should have much to report next week at the meeting.
