October 17, 2001   ToD Crafters Faire!

From Impatience:

This Sunday, at 8 pm Central in Destiny, we'll be hosting a Crafter's Faire!

This will be THE night for anyone searching for a craftsman to make them a particular item. Destiny's Finest Craftsmen (and women) will be in town, and anyone bringing them the appropriate supplies will have their orders filled free of charge.

Anyway, to pull this all off, we'll need help from Destiny's Citizens!

Below is a list of jobs that need to be filled. If you can commit to Sunday night, please post a reply saying so, and which position you'd like to fill!

Greeters (need at least 2)
These people will be stationed at the Knight's Pub to greet people as they come to Destiny. Their job is to direct people to the various craft shops, see that refreshments are left out in the Pub (they'll be provided with these), and perhaps give a few tours to visitors.

Guards (need at least 4)
We'll need guards on hand to patrol Destiny. As they patrol, they can give directions to visitors, but their main purpose will be to deal with troublemakers. This will be an effort coordinated by Vulcan Ironsides, Lord of Knights.

Bank Patrollers (need at least 2)
Bank Patrollers will be given runes to distribute at banks. Their job will be to advertise the Faire at banks on the night of the Faire, and distribute runes to those interested. Patrollers may also need to give gates to Destiny for the magically challenged, so it would be best if they are mages of decent level.

Crafters! (as many as we can get)
If you're a crafter, we need you most of all!
We need smiths, tailors, alchemists, scribes, tinkers, carpenters, bowyers and anyone else looking to push their goods. If you can commit to helping out Sunday night, please leave your name below.

Remember, this night will help to establish traffic to your shops. Meaning more business!

Also, before the faire even begins, we'll need some people to help out marking runes, and preparing food.

Runes will need to be marked for the Knight's Pub, some for a Trammel moongate, and some for each of the shops. (Marina's Tailory, Alchemy, and the Armory at the very least).

If you can mark runes, or prepare food, this would be a great way to help out if you can't make it Sunday night.

October 7, 2001 Town Meeting Minutes

October Town Meeting Minutes

Council members in Attendance:

Carina, Mayor of Destiny; Vulcan Ironsides, Lord of Knights; Crystal, Destiny Recruiter; Valtros, Minister of Operations

From Carina:

  • Leadership positions are open.  This time, those interested are asked to submit their names for consideration.  See the Town Hall for more information.

  • Destiny Representative position is open.  This person will act as secretary of the Destiny guild stone, sit on the town council, representing the Destiny Citizens guild, and head up town recruitment efforts.  Also see the Town Hall for information on applying for this position.

  • Carina’s taking a leave of absence from Britannia.  Here is what she had to say about that:

  • And my final item of the evening:  I've been struggling over this one for a while.  I'm still not sure, but I'm going to wing it.  My time in this position is teaching me so much.  So much about leading, about friendships, about people in general.  It's teaching me time and project management, people management.  Lots of great skills!  *grins*   But it also takes a very, very large toll.  I wake up in the morning thinking about what I can do better, what Destiny can do better.  I never seem to find a point of satisfaction, and it's wearing me down.  So... no I’m not resigning…unless you all think it's best.  But I am taking a very large break…and a big break.  And maybe during that break, someone will shine through, as the new person to lead the town, come December.  Which is the end of my term.  I don't have a plan for what's right or not right for me to do during the break.  I think I'll be "offline."  But I'll get whatever anyone needs to accomplish Destiny things.

  • Sabine and Impatience are both out of town for this meeting and send their regrets.

  • Ix will host a research trip Monday night to hunt ruins for Darimus’ pendant.

  • ToD has a few events in planning, and is working to revamp the Destiny Armory.

From Vulcan:

  • KFW has declared war on a fiendish group called the Evil Jesters.  After they are driven out, peace can be declared again.

  • He’ll host another Awards Ceremony soon.  Look to the Town Hall for information on that.

From Valtros:

  • There has been an increase in activity over the past month.

  • Bee and Sabine have been very helpful in events planning.

  • The new scenario and our own quest will keep things busy.

  • The Treasure Hunters of Britannia, our favorite treasure hunting service, has requested that we let them know a day in advance how many maps we have planned for them.

October 2, 2001 Destiny Friends Beware

Radagast (ICQ#125225036) is telling folks he is Marina of Destiny and that he (marina) was either hacked or gave everything away. He has successfully scammed a couple folks out of money with this tale. He's also attempting to soil the names of Valsu and Valtros. Please, if you have contact with him, do NOT trust him. None of his tales are true. He is not marina. Marina and her accounts are fine.  He was also known to us as Ellwen Crellmore.  Be careful out there!
