I reported the Council meeting from Wednesday. Please go to the Politics area of this site to read it.
I am updating the bios for many citizens today. I am cutting out the full citizen list from this page. That list is available on the OSI site and I do not wish to reconstruct it here. I have noticed we lose and gain around 5 - 10 people a day and I'm not going to be able to keep up with that. The new rules of getting your name onto the lists here are all based on participation. You can get your name into the People are of this site by doing one of the following things:
Win awards at a Destiny Awards Ceremony.
Submit a biography for your character via email to me.
Join one of the factions within Destiny.
I know that there are many on our citizen list that came once and never came back. I am trying to show those that participate in some way within Destiny. The easiest thing to do is just email me a bio of your character. It doesn't have to be long nor good =). Just something to let us all know what you are about. Thank you.

I have many things to update yet and I haven't gotten to them. So many changes to our world and so little time.... It seems everyone is benefitting from the new update which is great. I would have to say this has been the most successful to date. That is even compared to the house update although that was a good one too =).
I have an award ceremonies to report and the council meeting. I hope I get to this tomorrow night after my feast, heh. Speaking of which, I truly wish everyone a great Thanksgiving weekend whether you celebrate it or not (Canadians.) Be safe everyone, because I expect to see you all back and ready to have fun like always. From the town of Destiny to your families.....Happy Holiday!

Rhoube Manslayer has sent me his biography and I have started the citizen pages. All links will come from the awards page. If you do not have awards, it will state that but a link will connect to your biography. If you want a biography shown for yourself then send it to my email. It can be in whatever format you wish. I am not forcing a strict structure on this. I will just drop your stories, poems, songs, etc. as I get them. If you do not ask me to proofread them I will not. If you require me to proofread them it will take longer for me to get your page done.
There has been interest for two sub factions within Destiny. One is a pure mage section and an adventurers section. The leaders of this sub faction need to submit your plans. I will update you all on what these plans are as I get them. If you have any other sections that you would like to start or participate in please talk with me about it in Destiny.

Just a reminder about character profiles. There is a little scroll at your feet at all times. You can open this up and write a little something about yourself. It is a little pet peeve of mine that most people do not write anything in these. I humbly request that everyone in Destiny try to put something in there about themselves. My second request would be to say something about Destiny as well. And if you feel like it, you could even put our webpages down there =). Thanks.

Not much was mentioned about the auction so I thought I would at least show you all the fine women of Destiny that were present for all to see. I do not have a break down of what each of them brought in but I can tell you it was in excess of 200k gps total! Great job to all of you.

I would like to address a few concerns that some of you may have as of late:
Attacks on Destiny:
Lately we have had some groups come to town causing trouble. Most of the time they are the types of people that provoke you into attacking them and then they pounce on you while you are a criminal. Also, the misjudged murderers that have come to call Destiny home are at risk as well. I think most of them understand the risk they put themselves in while being public at Destiny. However, those of you that go grey may not. Please understand that if you go grey for any reason you are putting yourself at risk for attack from outside of Destiny.
Your fellow citizens or allies will do what they can to protect you, but understand that if you do die you made that choice for yourself. The citizens of Destiny do not have to try to defend Destiny with force if they choose not to. Citizens are inhabitants of the town and do not have specific duties as guards. Now we do have Destiny Guards and they do have the responsiblity of defending Destiny, but that may not include defending a murderer or criminal if they do not choose. Most of the time while trying to help out a ciminal or murderer the person becomes a target themselves and perishes. Obviously, if you are surrounded by npks and you do not wish to put yourself into a situation that has only one ending (your death) you do not have to do so. I leave it to everyone's judgement as to whether you want to sacrifice yourself or retreat for a better position (better odds.)
I would ask that if you do not wish to fight, try to stay out of the way or make it very well known that you will not help. I have often times seen a large group of us and felt we had the numbers to fight, but find that only a fraction of the group has chosen to defend. I do not, however, want to force you out of town everytime a fight stirs up. If you just go inside the pub or another public building, that would be good enough. This might provide some protection for yourself, as well as, staying out of the way for less confusion.
I find that most the time. These people will turn criminal themselves if you give them time. Do not fall victim to your pride or anger. They play on this. Most often I am laughing at them and wondering exactly what type of person this is. Try to sit back and realize that they are only showing themselves to be the fools.....don't become one yourself.
Destiny's Population:
A few people have asked me if I will control the population of Destiny. I really hadn't thought of that until recently. I guess my feeling on this is that Destiny is a town and not a guild really. If you try to compare a town to a guild you can see many differences and similarities. The main difference is the control on population. Guilds usually have a single or few purposes. They are all about a set of goals that the entire guild sets out to accomplish.
A town does not have this. Each person in the town has their own goals and their own purposes. The overall goal of a town is to survive and flourish. What does flourish mean? In my mind, this means to grow. This is not only to grow in population but in size and economic status. The shops should get busier. The streets become more used. The events become more frequent. The attractions become more well known......I think you can see where I'm going with this.
My control over the population is only to make sure that all within the citizenship follow the rules of the town that have roots from The Way.. I also strive to make the town safer and thereby assign certain individuals to the Destiny Garrison as Guards. Soon Cromwell and I will have devised a better system for the Garrison and KFW guards. Together we will have a force that will help better protect Destiny from outside forces.
Another responsibility I have put on myself is to try and expand the choices that a citizen has for taking a more specific path more attuned to their lifestyle. I am always looking for guilds that are somewhat different from the other guilds that currently call Destiny home. I am looking for guilds that follow the rules of the town and offer something "more" for certain citizens. My goal is not for "Des" to become large, but for the citizenry as a whole (KFW, Des, ToD, DW, TIW, etc...) to become larger and prosper.
If you are in a guild or know of a guild that does not have a home, can follow the rules of Destiny, and wants to have a good pool of recruits to call upon, please contact me via email. My goal is to make the lives of those in Destiny more fulfilling and happy. I think the direction I am taking Destiny will accomplish this goal. If you have any suggestions you can either email me or leave it on the message board.

Lately we have had several activities going on in Destiny. All of them have been very succesful and you are all to thank. Some have worked harder than others and you know who you all are. I would like to encourage everyone to participate as best they can. It only makes Destiny stronger and more fun for all of us. Our activites have been getting noticed lately and I hope I will be reporting some awards for our hard work soon.
We have drawn the attention of several Seers and Elders. I know we have several weddings coming up and possible events. Also, now that I am back from my trips I will be working more on these pages to help everyone become more informed on what is going on. Some changes will be updating the members pages, creating member pages for Destiny citizens, implementing a guard system with Cromwell, organizing the citizen rosters better, and coming up with new and exciting awards for those of you mastering those skills I have not made a badge for yet. I would also like to revamp the entire look of the website. It is long overdue =). This will not all happen overnight so please have some patience with me.
Many changes will be coming from the "Gods" soon with regard to decaying items and others. I think most the changes will be for the better of our community and I think many of them will help bring us all together even more. Having more than one "owner" of the public houses will really help move things along faster I believe. We can also start making the buildings more useful with more lockable and secured items available. I'm looking forward to the changes. The new housing laws are another subject, but we will cross that bridge when we cross it.
Look to these pages for frequent updates from me and my colleagues. There are many events on the horizon and you will not want to miss any of them. Keep to The Way my friends.
