There as a great turnout for last night's jousting tournament on the roof of the mage tower!  Warriors jousted valiantly and some even dueled for the top prize.  Thanks to all who participated and watched.  Congratulations to all the winners!  Here are the winners and participants:

Where? Roof of the mage tower in the town of Destiny (Felucca)

Entrant Rules:
-Registration begins at 8 o'clock CST, and ends at 8:30.
-There will be three categories: one for each weapon type (mace, sword, and fencing).
-Each warrior will get three passes against another opponent skilled with same weapon type.
-The joust will be on horse back with two-handed weapons.
-Four judges will watch to see who has dealt the most damage.
-In the event of tie, the warriors will heal up and duel on foot with one handed weapons and shields until one drops or concedes the battle.
-A warrior may have an assistant or squire to display his colors and hold extra equipment to be used for tiebreaker duels.
-There will no magic, potions, poison or healing for this is chivalrous fight and not necessarily to the death.
-There will be no looting.
-Judges will be on the look out for rule breakers and will deem them disqualified.

Prizes:
-Winner of each round gets 1,000gp
-Tournament winner in each category takes home a Grandmaster crafted, custom-made suit of Valorite armor and a power-level magic weapon to match the category.

-Spectators are welcome and encouraged to cheer!

Town Council Meeting Minutes – 05/08/01 

Council Attendance:  Mendanbar (ToD Pathweaver), Hyzenthlay (leader), Nabzif (Destiny Head Recruiter), Kurrgan (leader), WingNut (leader) 

From Carina - 

• Leadership Changes – Leader slots for Marina and Cromwell are now vacant.  A passive search for replacements is underway.  To be considered for town leadership, one must already act as a leader and make oneself known.  It is a position that entails more work and responsibility than the honor that the name implies.

• Several of us have been working to establish a Destiny settlement in Trammel.  As of tonight we have reached a point where I can offer vendor spots to any Destiny merchants who wish to move or expand.  Space is limited, so we ill only allow vendors that are well managed, sell high quality items, and sell high-demand items.  If you're interested in this, please contact me privately.  Also!  This new merchant house sits right next to the new villa that is soon to be the new home of the Destiny Library of Knowledge!  Our wings spread as we set a firm foot on Trammel soil.  Important planning meeting for any Destiny person interested…Wednesday night (tonight) 8:30CST in Destiny IRC.  This is for Destiny folks only.

• Upcoming May events – Zoo Day.  Trammel rune-marking parties.

• Nabzif is planning a life-size chess match, with people playing the chess pieces.  Obviously, we’ll need lots of participation, so stay tuned for details!

• ToD’s new guild house is up and running.  Please see him to be friended and use the crafting resources provided to ToD members.

 From Leaders – 

• Hyzenthlay – She’s been laying low as of late, but still fully supports Destiny and its new expansions.
• WingNut – He’s getting ready to head out on his many month journey to the seas soon.  And will not be able to serve as a town leader anymore.  We will sorely miss you Wing.

Concerns from Citizens and Visitors – 

• Several people expressed concern about the murderous attacks as of late.  It was agreed that the town needs an organized defense team.  As of now, Merlin has offered to start one.  Locke III offered to make his guild, M12, such a team.  Hopefully from the good discussion we had, something will be created.  Look for more information on that.  If you’re interested in joining a force, speak to Merlin, Locke, or me (Carina).

• Brian had several good suggestions for event ideas and the like for our trammel vendor house.

• Elder Anomius stated that he had heard rumors from Skara Brae of bands of brigands being attacked by elementals AS they attack townsfolk there.  I warn everyone to not attack the Skara Brae townsfolk, for the results are quite fierce!  I also suggest we all keep our eyes and ears open for more rumors of that nature.  Perhaps a visit to Skara Brae is in order soon as well.

The Travelers of Destiny (ToD) Guild will have an important meeting this Friday, 5/4/01.  The meeting will start at 7:30CST at the new ToD Headquarters.  This meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Also, the Monthly Town Meeting will be rescheduled for Tuesday, 5/8/01.  It will be on the mage tower roof at 8:30 CST.
