Attendance
- I didn't get everyone, among the visitors.
But the following council members did attend: Marina (Des), Hyzenthlay
(Leader, DW), Berek Halfhand (KFW), Telzarn (Leader, DW), Dren Jootz (Advisor,
Par), Carina (Mayor, Par)
Carina
discussed changes to government structure.
For now, the town council will be made up of Destiny affiliated GM's and
Town Leaders. Under the leaders
will be various committees. Leaders
will head up the committees. There
are four vacant Leader spots due to promotions and people moving on.
The current Leaders and GM's are instructed to send ideas and nominations
for people to fill those positions to Carina this week.
The
committees, for now, will be:
Events Committee - focuses on helping event-makers get things done. Made up of volunteers. Membership in a destiny guild and maintaining a certain level of participation are the only requirements.
Awards
Committee - focuses on keeping awards active and meaningful.
Membership will be the same as for events.
Recruitment/Welcoming
Committee - Co-headed by the Head Recruiter, all recruiters will be required to
be on this committee, along with any other volunteers.
Their focus will be on aquatinting new folks to our town and customs and
thinking of ways to up our population with good people.
As
soon as the Leadership positions are filled, we will get leaders to head these
committees and begin recruitment for them.
From
Marina on Destiny:
Marina
is stepping down as head recruiter. Nabzif
has accepted the job at her request. This
is effective immediately; so all Destiny citizens are requested to change their
fealty to Nabzif as soon as possible. Also,
Marina will clean off inactive members to aid in the transfer process.
Those who are taken off the stone by mistake should contact Marina or
Nabzif.
From
Berek on KFW:
Berek
was promoted Lord of Knights. With
that, Black Widow was appointed General of Sorcery and Kurrgan moved up to Lord
of Sorcery. With Carina's
transition to mayor, Mystanna will step into the General of Beast Army position.
They are talking about adding another army for bards and are discussing
nominations and awards.
From
Telzarn on DW:
DW
has joined the Council of Mages faction. They've
made efforts to keep their action in Destiny minimal, unless called upon for
protection.
S_B is currently undergoing leadership changes.
ToD
had no representative.
The
floor was opened to guilds seeking Destiny affiliation:
Erin McCrory of TMC sought an alliance with Destiny. Here are her answers to our questions:
Guild
Name: "The Mage Circle"
Abbreviation:
"TMC"
Number
of Members: 21+
Age
of the guild (approx.): 2 weeks
Recruitment
policy: Over 72 magery, and must show that they respect other mages.
No reds. No npk's.
1.
What is the purpose of your guild?
To promote the mystic arts, and to give a face to represent mages in
the future.
2.
What do you seek from being affiliated with Destiny? (What can
Destiny do for your guild?) We
hunt 2-3 times a week in Trammel, and on occasion see Destiny affiliates.
We would like to formalize a friendship between the guilds, so that
when we see them it is on a friendly basis from the get go.
3.
What can Destiny expect from affiliation with your guild?
Resurrections anytime you need them when we come across your members.
A helping hand for your members too!
(I personally have bailed a few Destiny members out from being
killed, and getting their stuff)
4.
What does your guild provide that none of the core Destiny guilds
already provide? Our guild
average magery is over 72, I don't think any of Destiny's have this.
Plus, we are based in Trammel. It
would be good of you to have friends there.
5.
What steps will your guild take in the next month to improve Destiny?
Helping you when you need help can be something that you tell your
new people that they can rely on when they see our members in Trammel.
This could help you in your recruitment process.
The
council decided to declare The Mage Circle “Friends of Destiny,” forgoing
officially allying (warring) the guilds or a seat on the council.
Alexis,
of WWP spoke on behalf of her guild to seek full formal alliance with Destiny.
Here are her answers to our questions:
Guild
Name: White Wyrm Pub
Abbreviation:
WWP
Number
of Members:16
Age
of the guild (approx.): 1 Month
Recruitment
policy: When positions are open I look to Destiny first and then post to all
boards. For regular membership it will be posting and word of mouth. Members
must be willing to role-play.
1.
What is the purpose of your guild? The White Wyrm Pub is a player run
pub establishment.
2.
What do you seek from being affiliated with Destiny? (What can
Destiny do for your guild?) I would hope that the members of Destiny could
help with support and donations of unneeded things such as empty bottles and
whatever people don't need.
3.
What can Destiny expect from affiliation with your guild? The pub
will sponsor many events, such as a weekly Ladies night, slave auctions,
treasure nights, fishing trips, etc. Also just a place to come and visit.
4.
What does your guild provide that none of the core Destiny guilds
already provide? Check #3
5.
What steps will your guild take in the next month to improve Destiny?
I have already had comments that it gave people a quiet place to just
hang out and relax over a brew and pizza. When people want a break from
fighting, they can escape to the Wyrm.
Alexis
and her Pub have already held several parties and get-togethers since reopening.
Based on its established level of activity and popularity, the one-month
waiting period was reduced to one week. Council
members will send their votes via pigeon to Carina about a full formal
affiliation, including a council seat.
Omega
Thanantos, of KFW, expressed a concern about town vendors staying stocked and
organized. Carina plans to speak
with Elsen of ToD about this matter.
There
were some honored visitors in attendance for a while: Christian and Arlanni,
both of the High Council of Britannia, along with several members of the OSS.
I regret that they were unable to stay through the whole meeting.
Therefore we did not get to hear from them. They are welcome to attend
the next meeting (which will, hopefully go more smoothly) or contact Carina on
any matters they wish to discuss.
The
next Town Council meeting will be in three weeks on Sunday, January 7, 2001.
This starts us on a first Sunday of each month schedule.

I is final. Carina is now the Mayor and she will do a great job in my opinion. I am still around and will help in anyway I can. If you have questions or concerns, you can come to me as before. If it needs some official intervention, of course I will contact Carina. Activities are up and the world around us is getting shaken up. I love the change, and I know it will be for the better. Good luck Carina, and I'm always here for any help you need (which won't be much.)
